New Series: Behind The Black #1, #2, #3|2019… →

Paintings created over the Summer of 2019 while living in Capitola Village, California. Inspired by the artist’s friends, art director and curator Suzie Quill, fellow artist and contemporary Annie Terrazzo; and coach, CrossFit Games athlete Annie Sakamoto. The series deals with the process of repair, while exploring ideas related to consciousness and awareness communicated by Sam Harris in his writings and podcasts.

Each piece is based on images from high end fashion magazines, created in watercolour, using a limited palette. The artist’s focus was to develop techniques in colour harmony taught to him by his contemporary and friend Rebecca Boyd Allen during his stay in London during the Spring of 2019.

I am delighted to announce the official release of my new series Transcendental Aesthetic which is now available to view on my website and as a PDF Look Book.

Transcendental Aesthetic consist of ten small works based on photographs of Brigitte Bardot taken by Sam Lévin between 1959–1963. Inspired by the music of Bach and Beethoven and the writings of Immanuel Kant, the series is an expression of time and space.

I have finally released my last series of work entitled On the Primacy of the Will in Self-Consciousness.

Select pieces from this series were featured in Issue 11 of After Nyne magazine and were on display at The Other Art Fair which took place in October. It now includes two recent additions to the original series, both created just days before exhibiting at The Other Art Fair, and is available to view online and as a PDF Look Book.
